Starting to accumulate numerous pallets. I've seen different ways of taking them apart. That seems to be the easy thing now. My issue is how in the hell do you remove these broken off or cut off screw nails that are flush. Running these boards thru a planer or other tool. Not looking to replace blade(s). Appreciate any input or ideas.

I have used a plug cutter just about 1/8" -1/4" deep, pry out the little piece of wood then use a pliers to remove the piece of nail.

Likely several ways to do it. I will use a nail set to push the broken piece out a little then remove with horseshoe cutters.

Something else you might consider when working with reclaimed wood is a metal detector. I purchased an inexpensive wand style metal detector to make sure I have removed all the nails and screws from reclaimed wood before I run it through any power equipment. It has paid for itself several times over.

I diassemble mine with a sawsall then flip, use a nail punch to push nail heads back through and smiply pull with a hammer. All the collected nail heads are collectedand used for esthetic purposes on future pieces.
