I have a Jet 12/21 lathe and I am thinking about getting a lathe that is easier to use for left-handed people. Today I turned the lathe around and tried using it like that. I really don't like doing that. The tailstock handle gets in the way big time. I might be able to move the tailstock handle to the other side. I am not sure. Of course, all the controls are on the other side. So you lefties tell me what lathe would you go to.

Mr. Tool Agnostic thank you for a very complete answer. You went to a lot of trouble and thought for those answers and I appreciate it very much. Yesterday I did turn the lathe around and I found out right quick I didn't like that so I turned it back around. The best thing I have tried so far is running the lathe in reverse and cutting on the other side. I also like to bring up the tailstock for support and use it for as long as I can so if I do that I can't run it in reverse.

Again I want to make it very clear how much I appreciate your help. :smile2:
