I had to remove the motor of my Craftsman Model 152.221140 10" table saw and now am reassembling it. I am having trouble with the motor spring. It goes on the shaft of the motor bracket and plays some role in belt tensioning. But the problem is that I do not know how it should engage the motor bracket spring pin. That is, on which side of the spring pin should the long arm of the motor spring be placed? Then, assuming that it should always be under compression, how in the world can I get the spring in place?
For example, must I take the motor off the motor bracket to accomplish the motor spring installation?
I have the Craftsman owners manual but it does not go into the subject of the motor installation. Can't seem to find any other resource of Sears on the web. Maybe a member has some experience that would help me.
Thanks in advance.
