1993 Delta 17-900 Drill Press price

Hi there I am looking at buying a used Delta drill press manufactured in 1993 from a local seller. I am very new to setting up a shop, so I don't really know what a fair market price is to make an offer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is described as:

Delta 17-900 Variable Speed Floor Model Drill Press
Comes with:
* Aftermarket Chuck
* Magnetic work light

I wouldn't pay more than 300 bucks for it. Delta doesn't have a very good resale value. Delta has suspended making parts for it decades ago and everyone knows it. It's well known that when Delta discontinues a machine they are making they empty out the parts warehouses to finish production of that model. Consequently you can purchase a brand new machine which parts are no longer available.

Not yet. Like I said this is not "on the market" just kind of offered to me in conversation. I plan to offer him $300. We'll see how it goes. I think he feels it's worth twice that since his "comp" links were to similar drills listed for $600 or more.
