I have someone that wants me to make pens out of Zebra wood. Is that fairly easy to turn? I am a novice and still have issues with very hard woods like highly figured walnut. I recently turned some Bocote pens and they turned out spectacular.

Thanks.

I've only turned one piece of zebrawood, I don't remember it being difficult (and I usually remember if it is!) Turned out quite nice.

Hey, hey, hey ... no pix, didn't happen. Them's the rules around here, now you have to show us

I just made several and it was no problem. Be sure to use the skew to get fairly smooth. I found that its bigger pores made sanding a little tricky to get the perfect finish, but doable once I got the skew working in my favor.

I've turned a bowl from it, not too bad, a little tear out and roughness. It smells awful when you turn it though.....
