It's quite small, and I wouldn't be too concerned if I wasn't using the wb finishes. No clue where it came from, it's wedged in there pretty good. Tried my dental pick with no luck. Didn't notice it until I was done staining. Hmmm

Bummer. You could try a first sealing with Zinsser SealCoat, a dewaxed shellac. This will dry fast, mostly alcohol solvent, little water. The metal is not likely to rust. Then you can apply the final water based finish.

That'd drive me nuts, like a sliver in my finger. I'd be tempted to dig it out and deal with the hole. Bummer indeed.
