It's quite small, and I wouldn't be too concerned if I wasn't using the wb finishes. No clue where it came from, it's wedged in there pretty good. Tried my dental pick with no luck. Didn't notice it until I was done staining. Hmmm
Bummer. You could try a first sealing with Zinsser SealCoat, a dewaxed shellac. This will dry fast, mostly alcohol solvent, little water. The metal is not likely to rust. Then you can apply the final water based finish.
