I use to work next to a company called "Sound Check". They set up the sound equipment and stages for concerts. They rebuild speakers there. He said anyone can build speakers, it's making them sound right thats the problem..

Projects made from my shop? Almost all of my projects were made in/from my shop.... hobbyist for 50 yrs.

As to the best project I've made, over the years I've improved my woodworking skills and my projects have advanced in their design and complexity. The subsequent phases/years of advancement has produced a best project for each those different times. It's hard to single out a best.

Most of my projects don't qualify as fine furniture, per se, as I like working with salvaged lumber, salvaged logs (milled) and//or driftwood. I suppose my style of work is more in the line of rustic or folk art, but I do take care for best woodworking applications, like best and perfect jointery to use. I try to avoid metal fasteners and such.

For myself, three latest projects come to mind - A Walnut trestle table, a loveseat rocker and a set of 5 (hand tooled - no power tools) cypress chairs. The walnut was salvaged trees from the farm. When I realized they were to come down, my idea was to mill them and make a nice dining table for the camp. I nixed that idea when it came out really nice. I subsequently made a cypress table for the camp, with a bench for one side and the 5 cypress chairs for the ends and other side. The rocker was initially for my brother, but he didn't want it.

For Mom, cedar jardinières, made from ice storm damaged cedar trees lining the front yard of the old homestead. The trees were planted when Mom was about 10 yrs old and she was glad I made something with them. We initially planned to toss the cut-up trees in the back field and burn the "debris", but I saw a project in them. Mom was an avid flower and gardening lady. She also like the rocker I made for her.

Gifted rocker for a needy child.... in this pic, she's showing me a bobo (injury) on her toe.
Autumn's Chair

For an elderly friend who had adopted a shelter dog and asked me to build a dog house. She was really surprised and pleased with the Cajun house. The dog liked it, too.

Sonny all hobby woodworking is for enjoyment. Sometimes you make a lil money for ones self. There's nothing wrong with this. I had hardly any tools when I started. I worked as a professional in a commercial/residential shop but I had nothing at home. It just take a few hand tools to turn wood into something...

When microwaves first came out they sat on a small table or counter top. I use to sell these like crazy...
