Hi all

I knocked this out last week for my moms' upcoming 84th birthday. It's made of leopard wood, such a beautiful grain pattern. You may have seen this project in one of the woodworking magazines. ANyway, it came out real nice with crisp sharp edges. The finish is a spray-on lacquer.

Very pretty and outstanding craftsmanship, but I'd be afraid to put water in it for the flowers.
Yeah I thought of that. So I mixed up some 2-part casting resin poured it into the vase, and poured it back out. Let it cure for a day and did it again. So unless the resin cracks it's pretty much waterproof.
