Found this board when I was going through some lumber in the basement and I'm not sure where I picked it up or what kind of wood it is. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

It's a redish brown and appears to be pretty dense

Very likely Walnut. But, I've had Mahogany that looks a bit like that.

+1 that's what I was thinking to. I've had similar, but not as much figure as that one. Nice piece though!!!!

Looks like a foreign walnut to me, perhaps African walnut.
