Hello Men of Wood,
I have a bunch of 6 panel pine doors at home that are bare wood, one new, and the rest have been up for a while. We are painting the woodwork white, but I'd like to hit the doors with a white stain that gives a finish, but will leave some wood grain show through, with a matte or satin finish. Hoping it will also do those things that finishes are suppose to do as well, like preserve and protect. A couple of the doors are for bathrooms, so they we be exposed to a little moisture.
I figure I should hit the doors that have been up for a while with TSP and some light sanding before I stain. Should I also do the same with the new door?
Thanks in advance,
Dave
