Get a good saw with a good fence and you will never regret it.
Jointers and planers are more for rough sawn lumber than working with plywood and lumber that's surfaced 4 sides like you can get at the box store for right now.
When you need the joiner for face flattening, then you will also need a "thickness" planer for the rough sawn. They kinda work together.
You can edge join a board on the table saw accurately enough with a straight line jig:
