Probably my favorite is a mixture of turpentine (or mineral spirits), beeswax, and BLO. The problem with it is it's not a finish I would use on that many things. But on a workbench top, or assembly table, or almost any surface in the shop it can't be beat. I do mix my own danish oil (1/3 each MS/BLO/varnish) and my own wiping varnish (50/50 varnish/MS), and I probably use more wiping varnish than anything else. Nothing exotic in any of these...but all are useful.
