Hi! I’m trying to fix my buffet table and it’s missing a small part that hold a wood panel in place (four of these holding a penal at its four corners).

Here are two pictures from different angles. What’s the name of this part and where could I possibly find something similar?

Just what does that do in a table?

Alignment pins ?
if this was a "privately made" table, the craftsman could have used what he had on hand for alignment pins.
I don't know if a shelf bracket support peg would work or not - I've never seen one used in a table leaf.

I assume you mean 'panel' or shelf. The supports I mentioned earlier will work just fine.
