I'm making a cribbage board for my dad and I'm not sure what to use for a finish. Its a beautiful piece of walnut and it has an edge of bark still on it. I have no idea what i should use for a finish!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it would help, i can post a picture of the piece of walnut im working with.

Thanks for the input.

If you like a more natural look you might use a watco oil finish. If you want a film finish I would use a oil based polyurethane. With a bark edge it would probably would be best to use a satin sheen so it wouldn't look too plastic.
