So I have been in the process of getting back into woodworking but I have extremely limited space in which to work. A long time ago I saw a demo of the ShopSmith and thought it was really neat.

Do any of you have a shopsmith? Does it really take up almost no space at all? Is it easy to change into the other tools?

Thanks,
Mike

PS. I have seen a couple shopsmiths in the local Craigs list for about $300 and I'm tempted, but don't know if it would be worth it.

I wanted a Shop Smith for probably 20 years after watching the Demos. I finally bought one. Nice machine but I sold it a year later. Went back to single use table saw, drill press, and sanders. I didn't feel the change over was use getting use to. The space when not being used was good, but in use it takes up more room in my opinion.
For $300.00 if it is well cared for is a great price, and one you can turn over if you don't like it. Some people Love them some don't.
