Those bags are horrible. If your shop is not climate controlled you’ll be way better off exhausting outside.

Clogged up bags degrade performance a lot.

Are you saying to use the Wen Dust Collector and instead of exhausting into the bag, just hook a 4" Dia. Hose and lead it to the outdoors? If so, that can be done with no problem.

Alternatively, could the hose from the dust collector be led to a cyclone with a large bucket?

Yes. Depending on the length you should consider 6“ exhaust.

Yes, if you’re exhausting outside it’s best to have a cyclone or you’re have a big mess. But on a small blower it’s going to have an impact on performance, but that is offset some by no filters.
