The carbide teeth on a blade is wider than the blade itself. If you put two full kirf blades together they won't be a full 1/4" unless you put a spacer between the blades. Just get a dado set.

You could use 7 1/4" contractor blades

For a 1/4" wide dado, it might take 3 blades and 2 spacers. You.did not say how wide a "certain" dado you need?

The 10" blades will have a lot of mass/weight to spin. The smaller blades are lighter and will spin easier. Easier on the saw and motor.

1 tried this years ago, although if you use the same "number of teeth" blades and stagger them, not all the 10" blades I used were exactly 10", leaving a series of notches.
