You could use 7 1/4" contractor blades

For a 1/4" wide dado, it might take 3 blades and 2 spacers. You.did not say how wide a "certain" dado you need?

The 10" blades will have a lot of mass/weight to spin. The smaller blades are lighter and will spin easier. Easier on the saw and motor.

For one time or very limited use you can get a dado set on EBay for $15.00. Like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Craftsman-K...004?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35cc936f2c

The carbide teeth on a blade is wider than the blade itself. If you put two full kirf blades together they won't be a full 1/4" unless you put a spacer between the blades. Just get a dado set.
+1. You might consider doing dadoes with a router instead.
