I have found an old Delta headstock and tailstock for sale. thinking about buying them for a homemade lathe. The head stock has left handed threads coming out the rear. I assume that they are for outboard turning but they are left handed. Does anyone know if there are chucks made with left handed threads for turning bowls on the rear of these or just what these threads are for?? Or does anyone know of a good source of headstocks and tailstocks?? Thanks for any help.

The left hand threads are usually for a handwheel. Delta did sell a faceplate that had left hand and right hand threads tapped into it. If you have one of these or if you can buy a left hand thread faceplate then you can turn outboard.
