I was told by a very reliable source that urethane reducer would
work better than lacquer thinner for thinning my lacquer
before spraying. Anyone here tried this??

Just an update,
I sprayed lacquer last night with the urethane reducer for thinning.
It actually worked really good. At first I thought it was going on
more glossy, but once it dried, it looked fine.
I think I might have to start doing it this way, even though the
reducer is much more expensive I think it sprays smoother.

In a previous life I was a bodyman. I worked for one company that ONLY used lacquer clear with urethane reducer to paint cars. It lays on smoother, and sands and buffs easier. It also seems to be more durable than when using lacquer reducer.
