came across a cedar log that had natural edge written all over it. Was gonna do some bowls but decided on hfs instead... Ive always had a love hate relationship with ERC. On the one hand it's pretty and turns like butter and on the other it's prone to cracking and wind shake n the sap wood is spongy and really really soft. I got this one as darn thin as it would let me but by the time I had the wall thickness uniform the thing was flexing so bad I thought it unwise to continue. Had A BLAST turning this thing.... turned the entire piece at 450 rpm probably could have gone higher in the bottom half but was kind of in the rhythm of things at that point. Will post a few more once shes all sanded up n finished:) happy turnin,
Bond
