I'm having some alignment problems with my 20-year old Delta contractor saw, model 34-444. Facing the saw from the front, the blade is too far to the right. At 45 degrees, the blade almost touches the tight edge of the slot in the table insert. I've tried loosening the 4 trunnion bolts and pushing the whole mechanism to the left as far as possible. That helped but not enough. The alignment of the blade is better but it still needs to move more to the left (as I face the saw from the front). Trouble is I don't see any other way to adjust the blade alignment. I know that the holes in the trunnion brackets are larger than the bolt diameter and before I moved the carriage I loosened up the bolts quite a bit, but I'm still not quite there. Any suggestions?

thank you

Thanks for your reply. I have looked at some of your references. I didn't have any idea that there was so much to this topic. A bit of study and maybe a tool or two and I'm sure I will be able to fix the problem.
