LOML decided that our son needed an update for his room. He’s had the same look for 10 years now. Anyway, she came across these bookcases designed originally by Gerald Summers.

Nothing special, just butt joints and screws with a little paint thrown in to make it look nice. All done out of 1×6 pine/doug fir. She seems to really like it as does our son, so all is good. Forgot the one simple rule though…....always plan BEFORE you build. Had to re-cut 4 pieces and fill a few holes due to not completely thinking things through. I had one of the longer pieces slanted instead of square, so when I added the cross piece, I had to really push a to get them to where I could screw them together. Good learning experience though, will definitely not be forgotten soon.

Thanks for looking, critique welcome.
