Can someone help me on putting my first coffee table build . Some tips suggestions, what type of wood to get and stain.

Any good links to a step by step ?

In just starting out so I have little experience ... I put together a workbench recently using a circular saw . I figure I can do a coffe table next for something simple and a way to learn some more on wood working.

I don't have the exact measure but its going to be a std size .. Maybe 42"x22", looking to stain it in a dark expresso finish.
