I have a Stanley # 71 Router plane that is missing the screw that holds the fence to the plane body. It's not a standard off the shelf thread. Anyone know a source to buy one or know the specs as to diameter and thread pitch. I tried St. James Tool, they list them on their website but don't have any in stock or have the info to make them any more. Thanks for any help.

I was just reading somewhere the other day about Stanley threads... some of the parts are not 1/4-20 but something close enough that you can make it work with a 1/4-20 die. Maybe try it with some wooden dowel first?

Thanks, I went out to the shop and tried a 10-24 tap by hand (no wrench) and it seemed to go with no resistance.
