This turning was inspired by Ralph Wilkes. Made from walnut with a 6in mirror and beveled 1/2in outside. The stands base is 6in round and dished out to hold small items like ear rings ect. Mirror can pivot 360 degrees by wooden turned pins. The finished with 4 coats on lacquer then buffed. Made for my wife as a Christmas gift.

That looks awesome. Making something like this got on my list while making that hand mirror, I just haven't figured out the pivot details yet. Nice job.

How did you shape the gimbal (if that's the right word for it) that supports the mirror? I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to turn it from the block around the mirror (while it was still part of the blank?)
