Yeah, I'll be buying some gloves before I do that again. The biggest mistake I made was using cheesecloths to wipe the stain off. (soaked right through to my hands) I gave that up soon and just used blue shop towels. At least the staining is done and I've got my first coat of polyethylene on. I'm looking forward to being done with the chest of drawers. I'll post pictures when it's done.
Depends on the stain base. Oil, water? Orange oil works well for many things. I use it straight but my wife says it should be diluted. About a teaspoon full takes a lot off. Not all products that way orange oil are the same. Read lables carefully.
