Hey, I'm New To the site, and I was hoping someone can help me with this issue. I recently bought and refinished a desk. The whole this went great. It was by far the easiest refinishing project I've done. The only problem I've had is with this one drawer. After I stained it, these spots came out. It looks as if something splattered on it at some point in time and seeped into the wood. Any thoughts on how I can get rid of them?

It would be hard to say what caused it but it looks like it was splattered with water and not sanded prior to staining. The spots are just dark because they absorbed more of the stain. This happens sometimes when water raises the grain. The only real solution is to strip the finish off and do it over.
