The fellow that commissioned 4 cake platters decided that another was needed. Here's # 5.
Mesquite, turquoise inlay on top and the base where a grub burrow showed when I was shaping it. Shiny top is epoxy finish. It's 11.5 x 6 inches, all from one piece of wood.

Very nice, Doc!
Do you use inlace, or crushed stone and epoxy?
And, just out of curiosity, what's he going to do with 5 cake platters.

Haha- they're family presents from trees on the "old family" land.
No inlace, I do it myself-- epoxy and turquoise.

Very pretty cake stand! Beautiful grains and figures on wood, the turquoise is a great accent and nice finish. It makes a great gift idea for Christmas. Great job!
