I haven't been on here for a while so I thought I'd post some pens I just finished. The first is a chrome pioneer style pen with a piece of cherry that I cut to show the heartwood and sapwood. The next is a simple gold slimline with walnut and deer antler (forgot the damn clip on that one). The last is another gold slimline, but on this one I experimented with laminating a bunch of veneers.

Nice. I just came in from the shop to cool off. I was just thinking I need to do a few more pens to get the lathe juices flowing.

Lookin good!! Its fairly simple to punch that button back out at the top so you can put your clip on.

Not bad at all

As Bassblaster said, it's easy enough to knock the button out of the top tube.

All you need is a metal rod close to the diameter of the tube, grip the outside of the barrel in something that won't mar the finish, and tap-tap-tap ...

If you don't already have something similar, I find THIS set of transfer punches from Harbor Freight is perfect for this (and lots of other size pen kits.)
