I have a solid 18"x47" african mahogany top that I'd like to do an inlay on. The inlay is 1/2" wide and .04 thick. Would there be problems with expansion?

Expansion of such a narrow piece should not be an issue.

+1 here an easy to do also, just make sure you glue it all with plenty of glue use damp rag to remove excess glue when clamped :thumbsup::thumbsup:
