I turned this doing a demo for the Chattanooga club and had the parts sitting around for months. Decided to do the final work on it. I textured the top with a carving gouge and then painted it Red with Milk paint followed by Black. then steel wooled through the black a little to show the red.

I taught a class at the appalachian center for crafts quite a few years ago on windsor stool making. We made tall ones. That's not a project for the faint of heart because the legs are thin and long and want to chatter. Good skew practice though. I still use the first one I made in my shop.
I haven't made a miniature one. May be time to give it a try.
