This is my first attempt at one of these, really quite fun. The wood I believe is spalted maple or spalted baywood (ebay) it measures 3-3/4 tall & 11" in diameter. The finish so far is a seal coat & Tung oil. Please enjoy.

Really nice piece, Bill. I've played with some similar shapes but nothing nearly that wide. That had to be pretty taxing. Did you have to use a long bent tool or could you get enough angle through the hole to use a standard hook tool?

Difficulty level aside, it's a beautiful piece. Really tight joints too. Almost looks like a single piece of wood:).

OK...

from what I know (not much evidently) about the Glaser Mini QR tools is that they are mostly around 7/16-1/2 tools. I thought they were all gouge and scrapers.

Do they include hollowing tools or the tools in that set are good for hollowing?
