I am beginning to layout my shop with the intention to build our kitchen cabinets. The challenge is that the shop is only 9x14. There are 8' doors on the 9' end of the shop. I need some advise selecting and positioning a table saw/fence system. Are there any setups that would allow me to work at the open end of the shop within the contraints of the 9' dimension. Any and all ideas are welcome. Thanks

Too many option and I have no idea if you have a small portable saw or a mega saw with 4' rails and a router insert? What other tools have to fit in it? Most of it is personal to how you work and what you build. You may never handle boards longer than 8' or you could only buy in bulk 16' lengths. Have to plan it out with paper or just start moving tools around. If it were me I would use an L shape at hte rear with the table saw on the other side side wall about 10' from the non door end with rollers so I could move it closer to the door for longer stuff. Can you build a deck out side the door for moving the saw out on nice days? Did this at my old bosses shop worked well and kept the dust down inside.
