Hi everyone,

I have the Tomek sharpening system and can sharpen all my tools except my Sheffield 1 1/2 inch skew turning chisel with a radiused bevel. I spoke to customer support and they told me that:
1. None of the jigs they have will work
2. Many turners create their own jigs for this type of sharpening.

I also have the Wolverine system for sharpening, but don't like it as I find it is too easy to lose the temper, so I prefer not to use it.

Love to hear about and see any jigs that others have created.

Thanks in anticipation,
Mark

Veritas makes a great little jig for sharpening radius skew chisels (Skew Grinding Jig, Item 05N1301) . It requires a pivot hole in the tool rest (which the Veritas Grinder Tool Rest has built in), which shouldn't be hard to drill - and makes grinding the radius very simple. Follow it with honing using a diamond card and you're good to go.
