Scrapwood Cutting Board

Nothing spectacular, just a cherry and maple item made from a cherry scrap I found buried in the shop wood rack and a bunch of hard and soft maple scraps from the three living room tables I made earlier. 19 pieces of wood made up into a 20"x15"x1" cutting board. This will replace an old beat up commercially made one and is finished with mineral oil. This one is meant to be used.

Always a good use for scrap shop wood. Make nice gifts too. With the cost of hardwood these days we can't afford to have waste.
My Son saw the cutting board at Thanksgiving and requested one. More digging in the shop wood rack resulted in the bits for this one. This one is cherry, red oak, hard & soft maple, and sapwood cherry. It's also 20"x15"x1". Again, nothing real fancy, just something for actual use.

Nice board,

I plan to make one for home too these are expensive to buy and not nearly as nice. I plan doing a end grain board with walnut, purple heart (my favourite) and English Oak.
Yep you have bragging rights too Jim, oh I made it out of scrap wood I had knocking around ;-) it looks great matey I hope you make many more.
All the best from Yorkshire UK.

Cutting boards are fun to make and a great way to use up those cutoffs lying around. Looks nice, good job.
