Salt n peppa shakers

I'm looking for some suggestions on what to finish these shakers with. I have done one set with Danish oil.
Would it be best to put top coat on these, for wear. All comments and thoughts are greatly appreciated
Thx. Denny

Nice looking. I currently use Woodturners finish by General finishes. Its a water based poly that you can apply by hand. It take 5 to 6 coats. I have used lacquer in the past.

If you want to get the grain to stand out, I would first apply Seal-A-Coat which is a dewaxed shellac product by Zinsser.

Then you can apply GF Wood Turners Finish as mentioned by TomC, or Minwax Wipe-on-Poly (often referred to as ***).

GF Wood Turners Finish dries fast. *** takes a few hours to dry between coats.
