So I made a few more mills this last weekend. I had some blocks of walnut and what I though was maple. I turned the 6" mill and applied the finish, then I turned the 3.5" little guy that has a little bit of curly figure to it and after applying the finish did a double take because I don't think the first one was maple after all.

So let me know, what woods do we have here? Maple and...maple:confused1::confused1:?

Pretty sure not ash...

Probably maple, my guess...

There are just so many different types...
Even that ugly red stuff that TT cuts, is maple...:eek:

We'll get Mr. Hinds on board soon...:yes:

I'm going with the maple and maple too. Probably no other wood had so many different looks to it. Nice job.

to me the ash on looks like it has a more distinct grain pattern then the mill. Although maybe a different finish would make it look different.

There is a pic of the other side and the top:
I meant the other one (rounded top, paler) might be ash ... but popular vote says it isn't :laughing:
