Just a little reminder for those of you, like me, that sometimes skimp on the safety gear. I wasn't wearing a helmet with a safety screen in front. I was hit a sapling under tension that was hidden by the branches of a white cedar tree when I was limbing. It really :censored: hurt by the way. It could have been way worse. I was lucky. I still have my eyes and I didn't break my nose. Needless to say, my new helmet is on its way. Be safe!

Ouch, I'll bet that hurt. Glad it wasn't worse and glad you have safety gear coming. I didn't bother with it till I had a close call too.

That makes my face hurt just looking at it. I never wore safety gear till I saw some of the post on the forums, and talked to the loggers that cut the trees on my farm. It made a believer out of me. I am glad to see your injuries are not permanent. Take two beers and post us in the morning.

At least you don't have a face that will stop a train... or even tried to stop one!

I say it about diving caves all the time: there is nothing in there worth dying for. Don't go in unless you have the right gear and the skills/training to use them.

When I first saw the picture, my first thought was "how bad does the other guy look?"

Glad to hear you are all right. And yup, safety gear is always a good idea, but often an after thought. As a 24+ year safety guy! I see it a lot.

Glad you're ok. My experience last summer was was walking out to trim a fence line. I got swiped in the face by a bush and had immediate pain and tearing. ER Doc got a splinter out of my eye, then off to the eye specialist-- had to wear a special contact lens for a day/two.. Now I wear safety glasses when out in the woods. Lots of plants/shrubs with thorns.
After all ya only get one set of eyes & one close call is enough.
