My buddy made a coffee table out of some leftover walnut. He wanted a rustic look. this is what we came up with. The top is 1 3/4 thick with the rough cut edges left on. the legs are 1 3/4 with a slow taper. We wanted the legs a little wider but he didn't want to laminate them.

He did most of the work I just helped him out with the joinery. He didn't know what he wanted for the legs and framework so I suggested the shaker style because I love shaker tables lol. He is happy with how it came out. We used Danish oil for finish but, he wants a harder finish. I was thinking maybe polyurethane in top if its compatible.
