Scotts right,think about it if you slow down but the machine is still going the same speed you present the cutting edge to the same place more often.Chances are you will burn it,get every thing right and the bit is dull chances are you will still burn it. Billy.

This is a sign that your bit is dull. I only use carbide ball bearing router bits.
Not necessarily, If his feed rate is too slow, even a brand new quality bit will burn end grain. :smile:
