Tough day in the wood shop, had several projects just "blow up", guess I should expect that now and then. Thing was, these were "good" pieces of wood or so I thought. I did manage to make a couple of nice pieces though.
This one is Huisache (Acacia sp), really like it because it takes a finish well and has beautiful graining.
It's 5 in tall x 5.5 wide. Used my normal friction polish.
The second is a bowl from Bois d'Arc (Osage Orange). 10 x 2.5 in with routine friction polish. Really like how it came out.

Good looking pieces glad to see someone turning regularly. Weather here is starting to break so I can get back to the shop. I turned 15+ smaller pieces last week that came out really nice have about that many to go trying to get ready for a show next month.

Beautiful pieces! Like the shapes and choices of woods, both Acacia and Osage Orange have pretty grains and figures. Great turning!

Nice looking stuff. I have yet to turn huisatche but I plan to get some this summer.
