I have a coffee table with a glass moisture ring. I am wondering what is the best way to correct this. Also will Lacquer let moisture through? Or is this a oil or wax based finish? Any help would be great.

I may be wrong but they to remove old finish and if the ring is still there, which it will be there. Take some house bleach and wet the wood good with it and let it set over night. Wash it with some clean water and let it dry for few days and see what happens.

I refinished a china hutch once that had white water marks all over it as the ceiling above it had leaked. Luckily it was a shellac finish and I was able to use denatured alcohol to get it looking like new.
I've never had the issue with anything that has lacquer as the finish. You need to test the finish first in an insconspicuous place to figure out the best way to proceed. If the finish dissolves with denatured alcohol, I can be of some help.
