I have a jet 6 in. jointer that has a taken a "set" in the belt. Can I replace it with an adjustable link belt? I was thinking it might make it also run smoother. Thanks for any help.

Yes, I replaced with a link belt on my Delta 6in jointer. Works well. A common upgrade for jointers. Not difficult.

Less vibration at the machine, but a different sound from the belt due to the air moving.

The link belt is not cheap. Some places sell by the foot. Woodcraft presently has a sale on a 4ft length for $30

My early 80's grizzly kept throwing off the link belt when I tried to put one on it so I had to go back to the original type that I picked up at the local napa store.
