Hi,
I am inthe process of refinishing a pine window. It is about 100 years old and it needed some repairs. I rebuilt the frame and used wooden pegs to hold it together. I tried to fill in the areas that were super bad and also where the pegs showed. I used a filler by Elmer's that said it would take dark stains. It looks awful and I am going to have to resand it and restain it. I am wondering what I should use as a filler?
Thank You

It would depend on the size of the area you are trying to patch. For small holes, I us shellac and sawdust from that type wood you are working wit. Mix them in a cup and stuff uit in the hole and let it sit for a few hours before trying to sand it. I it is larger, you made need to do some transplanting of small peices to hide the problem. It would be nice to see pics of what you are doing as it would help give better advice.
