Here is a platter I turned this morning. It is walnut and sassafras. Edge joined Wednesday, glued to waste block using paper joint Thursday and turned and finished this morning. I used friction polish (it is only going to be used to hold my wallet, keys, etc. on the kitchen counter.

I tried to use the square setting on iPhone and it crops them on the upload. Here is reg pics.

I did finally get a lathe, but I need to sharpen my gouges, and find time to do so. I know it's an excuse, but I've been real busy.
Some time soon. I hope.

Looks good, like the shape and the wood combo. Great finish, really made the pretty grain patterns pop. It's a perfect storage for small stuff.

I'm using it to hold all of my pocket stuff (wallet, keys, pocket knife, etc.).
