This is a hall table I designed and made using Pear and smoked Eucalyptus.... Finish is a hand polished varnish.

Beautiful! Art Deco influenced? Where did you get the training to make that piece? It doesn't look like the kind of thing that guys interested in woodworking buy some tools at Sears and make in their garage shop.

Nice, very nice, from what I can see, the inlays are perfect. How did you cut the 1/4 circles, did you use a stamp cutter? Love to see how you do such nice inlays. PICTURES would do, hehehe.

I did those 1/4 round inlays with a stencil and a exact o....steady hand Next time I get an inlay project I will photo it. Oh and the large circle was done with a modified glass cutting compass.

Just finished reading your story and it sounds like your grand father and mine must have had some long lost connection. Both were workaholics, both taught by letting us make our own mistakes, and both died with a stock pile of cherry. :yes:

Today I wish I had just one board of that stuff at my "shop". Grandda died while I was in Nam and by the time I got home my Uncle had sold everything and stuck Grandmam in a old ladies home. :furious:
