I've been doing a lot of sanding with my PC 333 RO sander and now some chuncks of the original pad are peeling off. Not a problem; It's time to change the pad.

Does anyone have any experiece with the OEM PC replacement?

Some of the reviews clamp problems with the thickness of the backer pad and offer a solution, i.e. washers.

Does anyone have any experience with these or a better after market product?

Thanks

That seems to be a very reasonable price. IIRC when I bought the same product from a specialty store, the price was almost double.

Yes, I don't have a problem with the price, just the apparent 'fit'. A lot of the reviews denote the same mounting problems (and solution). It's probably not a big deal, just add washers, but I was wondering if anyone else ran across this or had something better.

Thanks

I have one of those Porter Cable replacement pads I bought as a backup awhile back but haven't used it yet. I compared it to the original one that is still mounted on my 333 and the replacement is thinner than the original pad. Just guessing I'd say it's around 1/16" to 1/8" thinner. I didn't read any of the reviews you mentioned but if a few tiny washers solve any issues that might be caused by the difference in thickness then I won't be too concerned when it comes time to install the pad I have.

When I replaced the pad for the second time, I sort of remember having to add a washer to each screw. It's a PC part and it fits a PC sander.

HOWEVER

One of my screws had loosened and stripped out during the last ice age. I redid the threads at either 10/32 or 10/24. So I was thinking it was because of my rethreading operations.
