Help please. We have a cabin with a plywood countertop where the kitchen sink is. I painted a water-based paint (2 coats) and then painted 2 coats of Varathane (no-odor polyurethane ultimate durability, heavy-use formu, water-based crystal clear finish) over the paint. Question is: Will the paint and poly ever cure enough so that I won't get "spotting" when water hits the countertop. I need to be able to set a hot coffee mug, wet utinsils, etc on the countertop without worrying about ruining the surface. I used water-based products for their easy clean-up. A friend has said I'll always have the spotting from water since I didn't use oil-based poly......Thanks for any help.
