Hi,
Following on from my previous post I have released the hidden compartment video on YouTube today.
Hall table from Australian Red Cedar with Huon Pine inlays.
The pattern on the front conceals a release button for a secret drawer.
The video steps out the drawer build and latch mechanism.

Sir, or should I say “mate”, my hat is off to you. I am awestruck, not only for overcoming a physical impediment, but the level of craftsmanship some of us can only aspire to.

And yes great video editing. :)

BTW, my wife’s side of our family is Australian. She has many relatives in the Sydney area. My mother in law was a special lady. She lived to be 96 and spent the last few years of her life with us, which was a great blessing and a joy. I used to kid her that she was so tough because her ancestors survived the voyage in the convict ships. She got a kick out of that, God rest her soul.

Awesome work. Is there a catch for the main drawer, or do you just reach under and pull the lower edge of the front?

i remember when i was doing remodeling, working alone. I had to plan all the work, relying on tricks to hold the other end of the board, etc. i imagine you make extensive use of jigs and fixtures.
