Wow. This is an awesome forum. Happy to find it - first time poster.

I am a hobbyist maker with a 3D printer and a CNC machine looking to make some new interior additions for a Tesla Model S. I am trying to match the lacewood veneer (American Sycamore?) in the interior, but I'm having a really hard time sourcing a sample that looks like a close match to the grain cut.

here is a link to a photo of the car veneer: http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k585/dante482/BlackonBlackdashwithLacewood.jpg

Any suggestions?

There's all kinds of images of lacewood on the net but I'm guessing you're trying to find the grey lacewood Tesla uses in their car? If so, could you Photoshop a lacewood image and tone it grey?
